Breakfast: Nourishing Beet Smoothie
In this nutrient-rich recipe, your body will soak up all of the incredible benefits to help reduce PMS symptoms, decrease period bloat, increase energy, balance hormones and support digestion. The magic of beets is how they boost our natural detoxification pathways, support blood flow and restore lost nutrients.
(Makes 1 serving)
· Handful of kale leaves
· 1 medium beet, peeled and cubed
· 1 scoop vanilla plant protein powder
· ½ frozen banana
· 1 tbsp raw flax seed
· 1 tbsp almond butter
· 1 tsp cacao powder
· 1 cup non-dairy milk
· Optional – coconut yogurt & pumpkin seeds for adding on top
1. Combine all ingredients to a high-speed blender. Blend on low speed, slowly increasing until smooth and creamy.
2. Pour into a glass and optionally top with pumpkin seeds and/or swirl in coconut yogurt for added gut-health benefits.
