Cellulite in the ‘uncommon’ places…

Have you ever had a glimpse of some cellulite in a place that makes next to no sense? Booty? Ok fair enough. Thighs? Ok fair enough.
But the top of stomach? Heck, where did it come from and what does it mean?!

Have you ever had a glimpse of some cellulite in a place that makes next to no sense? Booty? Ok fair enough. Thighs? Ok fair enough.

But the top of stomach? Heck, where did it come from and what does it mean?!

TCM Doctor explain the mystery behind ‘random’ cellulite appearances.

‘Let’s face it – cellulite is annoying at the best of times, but when you start to see it in places you didn’t think possible, like your abdomen, you might start to wonder why.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) always subscribes to the notion that there is always a reason. So with this in mind, we thought you might like to learn what cellulite above the naval might actually mean. According to TCM, cellulite relates to water metabolism and when qi stagnates (qi being energy flow), it can lead to this accumulation of fluid or as you may have heard us use the term – damp. Cellulite can also be from weak spleen energy which again leads to this same idea of congealed fluids which can become stuck leaving you with a host of pesky symptoms.

For those who have a cold constitution and weak spleen energy, we tend to see this buildup above the naval as opposed to other types of cellulite which may be more likely due to other factors like heat (orange peel skin) or phlegm (edema and swelling) as common examples.

It’s also been suggested that abdominal cellulite may due to blockages in the solar plexus with reference to your body chakras – not a TCM term but certainly another way we can free energy in the body for better health. It certainly makes sense to me!

If you’re finding yourself with weird and wonderful symptoms we encourage you to look a little deeper, use it to spark curiosity and learn to understand your body a little better – signs are just clues into your internal landscape that can tell you a whole lot of wonderful information to sweeten your life’.
