We might joke about having “food babies,” but no one enjoys feeling bloated. Unfortunately, bloating happens far too often for some of us. To help you beat the bloat and reduce bloating in just two days, we want to challenge you. Below we’ve listed seven steps to help reduce bloating. For just 48 hours, try to follow each of these steps and see what happens.
Avoid Eating Intolerant Foods
We each have foods that aren’t great for us. Whether you have food allergies or a gluten or lactose intolerance, eating those foods will cause you to bloat. Instead, for two days avoid eating foods that typically upset your stomach and see what happens. If your bloating is down, keep avoiding those foods in the future.
Eat Slower
Bloating can be a result of swallowing air while you eat. Instead, slow down and take at least 30 minutes to eat each meal. After all, digestion begins in your mouth, so you need to give yourself time to adequately chew and carefully swallow your food.
Eat Smaller Meals
We have a bad habit of eating only 2-3 meals a day and making those meals very large. Instead, try eating 5-6 meals a day and make them small.
Eat a Low FODMAP Diet
Particularly in individuals with irritable bowel syndrome, a low-FODMAP diet has been shown to lead to major reductions in bloating. This means eating fewer beans, wheat products, and certain vegetables and fruit.
Drink Hangover Tea
The ingredients in Hangover Tea work on the liver to cleanse and detoxify and help to flush out toxins via the urine. Because it also helps to cool the body it’s useful to treat headaches too. Ge Gen is another loved TCM herb in the blend that helps to treat the effects of dehydration by nourishing fluids, this means that the bowels are also looked after. Assisting digestion and bloating.
Drink More Water
Water, particularly water with lemon, helps to fight constipation and flush out bloat-inducing sodium. Lemon helps work as a natural digestive aid. Aim to drink about half your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 130lbs, drink 65 ounces of water.
