10 Tips to Prevent Acne

Stop your breakouts before they start with our ten tips to prevent acne!

Once you get acne, the battle is already lost. You have to wait days, sometimes even weeks, for the blemish to go away and your skin to get back to normal. It’s much more effective to prevent acne in the first place. But how?

  1. Wash Your Face: Keep your face clean by washing it twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil. However, be careful not to over-wash your face as it could do more harm than good.
  2. Moisturize: If you use acne products, you can seriously dry out your skin. Excessive dryness causes peeling and can make you break out even worse. Use a noncomedogenic moisturizer every time after you wash.
  3. Don’t Touch: Your fingers are filled with bacteria and germs. Every time you touch your face you transfer that same bacteria to your sensitive, acne-prone pores.
  4. Choose the Right Makeup: Makeup can clog your pores and make you breakout. Be sure to wear only a light coating of makeup and choose your products carefully. Look for lightweight, noncomedogenic products.
  5. Eat Right: Acne isn’t only caused by the outside; it’s also caused by what’s inside your body. Avoid greasy, processed foods and make sure you properly absorb the vitamins and minerals you need by drinking Skin Magic Tea.
  6. Change Your Pillow: Change your pillowcase on a weekly basis. You sweat at night, and that soaks into your pillow, which means you wake up coated with dirt and acne-causing oil.
  7. Check Your Hair: What shampoo do you use and what products do you put on your hair? Your hair is closest to your face and if you use fragrance and chemical-filled hair products, you could break out worse.
  8. Use Sunscreen: Stay out of the sun and use sunscreen. The sun’s ultraviolet rays can increase inflammation and redness.
  9. Exercise Daily: Regular exercise is good for your whole body, including your skin. Sweating can also help clear your pores. Just make sure to wash your face and change your clothes directly after your workout.
  10. Stop Stressing: Studies have shown that stress can be directly linked back to acne. Find ways to relax and chill to stop your stress-related breakouts.
