My crazy PMS moment happened a few years ago. Being a very security conscious woman I made use of “a security device” one inserts into the keyhole so that potential thieves can’t access – using one of the myriad of keys on their bunch! I arrived back from a hectic Saturday morning grocery shop – rude shop assistants, screaming kids, over zealous drivers and fellow shoppers pushing their trolleys into my heels and purse more then three times! I had forgotten that I had used the device and cursed while trying to unlock my front door! I ended up ranting and raving on the phone to my landlord – telling him about his inferior door locks, etc!
He very kindly came to my rescue – obviously feeling shamefully bad and stupid, as I had taken him away something far more important!
Clearly we do not think clearly when it is that time of the month and finding ways to curb our individual “overy-acting” is key.
After that wonderfully embarrassing, childlike situation, I knew I needed to get my emotions under control. Since I take contraceptives, I know when my time is coming each month. Instead of freaking out and letting it get the best of me, I workout hardcore during the first few PMS days and make a crazy healthy, dark green smoothy each morning.
I’m happy to say I haven’t had an episode since!
Shake Recipe:
This shake contains Vitamin C, K, folic acid, B12, B1 and B6. If that’s not enough, it’s super rich in chlorophyll, which helps cleanse and detoxify the blood!
Ingredients:
2 handfuls spinach
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 green apple
1/2 tbsp. honey
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
Directions:
Place it in a blender and pulse till consistency is smooth!
